The Mercosul Biennial positions Brazil as an international reference point in the visual arts. In addition to promoting integration between the countries of Mercosul through art and promoting Latin American art as a whole, the Mercosul Biennial provides access to culture and art for thousands of people. In the 12 years of its existence, the Mercosul Biennial Foundation has organised six editions of the visual arts exhibition with a total of 399 days of exhibitions open to the public, 50 different exhibitions, 3,616,556 visits, completely free access, 919,723 school bookings, 165,229 m2 of prepared exhibition spaces, open areas and rediscovered and revitalised buildings, 3131 works exhibited, temporary urban interventions
